Attention, Junior Scientists! This STEM-based program for 3-5 features a book and science activities that encourage deep thinking, inquiry, and fun. This week’s exploration is called Bouncy Science based on the theme Amazing Sports! We will use ingredients found in the kitchen to create the ultimate kickball launcher combo to bring down the queen of kickball. This exploration is based on the book Ella McKeen Kickball Queen by Beth Mills.
Each week we will use a variety of materials that you may have at home to explore a scientific concept. This week’s needed materials are:
Borax (found in laundry section)
· Warm water
· Corn starch
· 2 small mixing cups
· Something to use for stirring (popsicle stick or plastic spoon)
· Food coloring (optional)
· 2 plastic cups (equal height)
· 2 pencils
· Cardboard square
After our program, find the book(s) to read again on Hoopla. Need assistance? Contact us at 904-255-BOOK.
