If your child is into science, technology, engineering and math (or would they like to be), this is the time for them to shine. Read or talk through a STEM book with us and then we’ll do a STEM-based activity together.
Attention, Junior Scientists! This STEM-based program for 3-5 features a book and science activities that encourage deep thinking, inquiry, and fun. This week’s exploration is called Cardboard Arcade, based on the theme Dream BIG! We will use cardboard and other household materials to create a functioning arcade machine. This exploration is based on the book Stories for Boys Who Dare to Be Different by Ben Brooks.
Each week we will use a variety of materials that you may have at home to explore a scientific concept. This week’s needed materials are:
· A variety of cardboard pieces (many, if possible)
· Tape (masking, packing, or duct)
· Random objects (ball, coins, etc.)
· Markers
· Scissors
· Play coins/tokens (optional)
· Tickets (optional)
*Adult supervision required.
After our program, find the book(s) to read again HERE. Need assistance? Contact us at 904-255-BOOK.
