The Covid-19 crisis has put a massive strain on what was a growing positive economic and political relationship between China and the African continent. As Chinese President Xi Jinping’s centerpiece “Belt and Road Initiative” continues to expand Chinese power, the response to the spread of Covid-19, as well as the African government’s growing debt tot China, has seen pushback. What are some of the growing economic and political issues between China and Africa?

Facilitator: Josh Gellers, PhD

Dr. Josh Gellers, LEED Green Associate, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of North Florida. 

Registration is required for this event, and must be completed two hours prior to the start time. A library card and PIN is required for registration. If you do not have a card, click HERE to obtain one.

A link to the Zoom meeting room will be sent 1 hour prior to the event. Your Zoom name must match your registration name for you to be admitted to the program.
