About this Event

Join the Jacksonville Public Library and MOCA Jacksonville for Art & Conversations: Social Change 101, connected to MOCA's group exhibition, Romancing the Mirror.

This Social Change 101 panel comes together to increase awareness of women and femmes' experiences with art, and discuss how community members can make our city a safer place. Panelist for this Social Change 101 represent academia, community activism, artists, and social services. 

Our moderator: Jessica Borusky, Art Galleries Director and Instructor at the University of North Florida (UNF)

Our panelists for this Social Change 101 include: Elena Øhlander, illustrator and artist, GeeXella, musician and community organizer, Dr. Jennifer Wesely, Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UNF, Lucy Maddox, Development Director for The Women’s Center of Jacksonville, Paige Mahogany-Parks, transgender activist and writer.

Registration is required for this event, and must be completed two hours prior to the start time. 

A link to the Zoom meeting room will be sent 1 hour prior to the event. Your Zoom name must match your registration name for you to be admitted to the program.
