JPL Presents turns the stacks into your new favorite performance venue, bringing entertaining and educational performers – including musicians, animal handlers, dancers and yes, even magicians! – to showcase their talents for children ages 5 to 12. June 15– Jennifer Swanson In this corner, we have ASTRONAUT in the spacesuit! In this corner, we have AQUANAUT in the wetsuit! Who will be the ultimate explorer?!? Join Jennifer Swanson, author of children's book Astronaut or Aquanaut, for a debate with interactive questions and help us compare and contrast the benefits of each extreme environment. This exciting event will have you soaring into space or diving deep into the ocean.
June 22– Art-Z-Faces Under the Sea Balloon Show – Come join Glenda at the library, and we'll see what lives under the sea! We'll see clownfish, crabs and so much more, all before we come back ashore!!!
June 29– Wild Wonders Animal Show is proud to present “Dinosaurs Among Us.” This is an informative and interactive live show that displays local and exotic reptiles. Of course, we will have a few warm fuzzies to pet. Come join us as we investigate these interesting prehistoric creatures.
July 6– Jazz it Up! Noteworthy is an exciting local jazz and groove band, performing live music. Get ready to dance, sing, and have a great time!
July 13– Jacksonville Zoo Join the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens as we discuss some of the amazing adaptations of aquatic creatures. How does a saw-nosed shark hunt? Why can crocodiles swim in the ocean, but alligators can’t? How is a crab shell different from a turtle shell? Come get your sea-life questions answered and meet some animal ambassadors as we explore an Ocean of Possibilities!
July 20– Bug Songs Bug Songs teaches basic insect biology and habits using narrative and all original songs. Come discover what is in Tom Cornwell’s box of bugs!
