JPL Presents turns the stacks into your new favorite performance venue, bringing entertaining and educational performers – including musicians, animal handlers, dancers and yes, even magicians! – to showcase their talents for children ages 5 to 12. June 16– Bug Songs Bug Songs teaches basic insect biology and habits using narrative and all original songs. Come discover what is in Tom Cornwell’s box of bugs!
June 23– Jacksonville Zoo Join the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens as we discuss some of the amazing adaptations of aquatic creatures. How does a saw-nosed shark hunt? Why can crocodiles swim in the ocean, but alligators can’t? How is a crab shell different from a turtle shell? Come get your sea-life questions answered and meet some animal ambassadors as we explore an Ocean of Possibilities!
June 30– Just Add Rhythm 1, 2, Let’s All Play – a hands-on drumming experience! Join Just Add Rhythm as we harness the power of everyone’s superpowers! We’ll drum, we’ll move, we’ll play games, and best of all – we’ll all work together to make each other shine!
July 7– Art-Z-Faces Underwater Science Show – Come visit Rebecca at the library, and she'll show you the science behind some of the coolest things in the sea! From Saltwater to Sharks, we'll explore an Ocean of Possibilities!
July 14– Wild Wonders Animal Show is proud to present “Dinosaurs Among Us.” This is an informative and interactive live show that displays local and exotic reptiles. Of course, we will have a few warm fuzzies to pet. Come join us as we investigate these interesting prehistoric creatures.
July 21– Jazz it Up! – Noteworthy is an exciting local jazz and groove band, performing live music. Get ready to dance, sing, and have a great time!
Registration is required for this event, and must be completed two hours prior to the start time. A library card is required for registration. If you do not have a card, click here to obtain a card.
