The JaxKids Book Club is a free club focused on promoting early literacy for children and their families. Each year all Duval County Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) students receive a free backpack of 8 new books to start their love of reading and build their home libraries. Backpacks are available at all library branches for any 4-year-old child who didn’t receive one, while supplies last.
This event is sponsored by the Winn-Dixie and Harveys Gives Foundations in support of the JaxKids Book Club and in collaboration with the Library Foundation of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Public Library.

Join us at the Early Learning Festival for activities, balloons and more throughout the 2nd floor of the Main library before and after this storytime. Plus, the first 50 families receive a free tote with all the ingredients to make your own Rainbow Soup from our fantastic JaxKids Book Club sponsors Southeastern Grocers Inc. and other giveaways!
No registration is required for these events; however, we do ask participants to sign in before the event and to complete a program survey after the event. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to sign in for the event.
